Pregnant Rihanna Break Social Media Silence Reveals How She’s Feeling After Announcing She’s Expecting Baby No. 3

After announcing to the world that she’s expecting again, Rihanna is sharing how she’s feeling.

Just before appearing at the Met Gala on Monday, May 5, the “Disturbia” singer, 37, announced that she’s pregnant and expecting her third baby with partner A$AP Rocky. As she walked the blue carpet outside the gala later that night, Rihanna gave an update on how her third pregnancy is going.

“I’m good. I’m shockingly feeling okay and not too overwhelmed at the moment,” the pregnant mom of two told Entertainment Tonight. “I mean, at first, it was kinda like, ‘Ah!’ And I’m tried, but then I’m excited.”

The musician was then asked if this pregnancy would delay her forthcoming ninth album, to which Rihanna pushed back and said, “No. Maybe a couple videos, but I can sing!”

On Monday, Rihanna and Rocky shared that they are expecting their third baby together.

The singer’s photographer Miles Diggs revealed the news on Instagram ahead of the red carpet at the Met Gala, posting a photo of the pregnant singer in the rain with her baby bump on full display.

Rocky, who was a co-chair of this year’s Met Gala, told reporters on the carpet, including the Associated Press, that “it feels amazing” to be expecting again with Rihanna, adding, “It’s time that we show the people what we was cooking up.”

“And I’m glad everybody’s happy for us ’cause we definitely happy, you know,” he said.

The couple is already parents to sons Riot Rose, 21 months, and RZA Athelston, who turns 3 this month.

Rihanna is used to revealing her pregnancies on high-profile stages, having done so during her Super Bowl 2023 Halftime Show when expecting son Riot.

The latter event gave the Grammy winner the distinction of becoming the first pregnant woman to star in the halftime show.

She played up the big reveal in the opening moments of her performance, rubbing her stomach and leaving the zipper of her outfit — a jumpsuit layered over a close-fitting bodysuit and sculpted bandeau — down to reveal her belly.

Rihanna first revealed in January 2022 that she was expecting her first child with Rocky. After she was photographed debuting her baby bump in New York City, a source told PEOPLE at the time that the singer was “excited to be a mom” and “couldn’t be happier.”
