Pregnant Cardi B Break Social Media Silence Reveals Her Worst Parenting Fear And Shares Emotional Vow On Raise Her Kids
Cardi B is all committed to being a mother of her three kids and raising them well.
During a recent chat on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, the Am I the Drama?, the 32-year-old rapper confessed that she wanted to raise her kids as a “100 times better version” of her.
“It’s discipline. It’s gotta be in you, and you have to be better than me. I want you to be better than me,” she told Jay. “There’s things that I cannot do that I want my kids to do.”
Cardi went on to say, “I want you to be smarter than me. I want you to be — not perfect because you cannot make your kids perfect and you don’t want you to put pressure on your kids [to be] perfect.”
“But I want you to be a 100 times better version than me, and I’m gonna [instill] that in you and you’re gonna be mad and you’re gonna be crying, but you’re gonna appreciate that one day because I wish the things that that I put on my kids that somebody put in me when I was younger,” the doting mom added.
Cardi B also expects her kids to make money moves, too.
A month after the “Bodak Yellow” rapper announced she is pregnant with her fourth baby, her first with boyfriend Stefon Diggs, she revealed what would be the “worst disappointment” to her as a parent.
“Please don’t be lazy,” Cardi—mom to Kulture, 7, Wave, 4, and Blossom, 13 months, with ex Offset—explained during her Oct. 6 appearance on On Purpose with Jay Shetty. “Don’t be a bum. Some people have the look, the intelligence, the talent. Some people really have that. But they don’t go nowhere because they’re lazy.”
And though the 32-year-old’s 15 minutes is lasting long as hell, she doesn’t want her kids resting on her or their fathers’ legacies.
“Don’t just be, ‘Oh your parents are this and that,’” she continued. “No, be your own person. Be your own human. Be something. Be something you could be proud of.”
For Cardi, seeing her mother Clara Almánzar work hard at what she did inspired her, and she wants to do the same for her four children.
“It’s like, ‘My mom worked every day, I see my mom work every day,’” she explained of what she wanted her kids to say about her. “Be that. One day, you’re gonna have kids one day and you want your kids to say that about you. That you worked hard every day, that everything you got, you deserved.”
