Offset Land In Big Trouble After Allegedly Attacking a Security Guard At An LA Dispensary Amid Bitter Cardi B Divorce
Migos rapper Offset is being sued for assault, battery and intentional affliction of emotional distress by a security guard over an alleged altercation at a Los Angeles dispensary.
The hip hop star, 33 — whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus — is accused of ‘attacking’ a guard named Jim Sanchez at MedMen LAX back in March, according to TMZ.
Sanchez claims the Stir Fry hitmaker — who’s currently going through an ugly divorce from rapper Cardi B, 33 — became riled up after he asked him to show identification.
The guard claims the musician ‘became hostile, verbally confrontational, and physically attacked Plaintiff by striking him in the face.’
Sanchez claims that several other people who were there with Offset went on to ‘further assault and batter’ him.
He claims that the incident left him with headache and neck pain so severe that paramedics took him to the hospital.
Offset’s representative previously denied the allegations, and claimed the security guard was aggressively rushing him and even spat on him, which started the altercation.
At the time sources told TMZ the rapper ‘punched’ the guard, who then reportedly used a can of mace on Offset and his companions.
Aside from his current legal troubles, Offset is simultaneously battling a bitter divorce from Cardi B.
In September, Cardi announced that she and New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs, 31, are expecting their first child together, four months after they confirmed their romance.
The Grammy winner already has three kids with Offset.
She revealed her pregnancy during an appearance on CBS Mornings on Wednesday with host Gayle King.
‘I’m having a baby with my boyfriend Stefon Diggs,’ Cardi told King.
‘I’ve been putting in all this work, but I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby.’
‘I’m happy I feel like I’m in a good space,’ she continued. ‘Me and my man are very supportive of each other. We like in the same space in our careers. You know what it is that I feel like we’re really great, we’re really the best at what we do.’
The singer said her baby is due in February. In March, Cardi claimed that her estranged husband Offset has ‘harassed’ and threatened to kill her during an explosive rant amid their contentious divorce.
The Bodak Yellow hitmaker – who filed for divorce from the fellow music offset last year in July – took to X Spaces to also allege that Offset has gotten bloggers to ‘troll’ her.
The star also demanded an apology or she would ‘expose f***ing everything,’ per Hot New Hip Hop.
Cardi B claimed, ‘He’s upset because I sent his girlfriend messages of him begging me, saying he was going to take away his life, saying he was going to take away my life.’
She then continued by alleging that her ex also ‘harasses me, leaves me voicemails, and tries to lower my self-esteem.’
Cardi B and Offset tied the knot in 2017 during a private ceremony – but she filed for divorce for the third time from the rapper in July 2024.
In early 2018, cheating rumors surrounding Offset began to circulate, but the couple stayed together and announced they were expecting their first child together in April of that year.
However, five months after Kulture was born, Cardi B announced their split in December 2018.
The next year, the two reunited and in September 2020, she revealed that there could be ‘drama’ in their relationship while talking to Elle.
That same month, she filed for divorce – which was called off a few months later in November. The estranged couple are also parents to three children: Kulture, six, Wave, three, and Blossom, born in September 2024.
At the time of her divorce filing last year, a source told Page Six, ‘They’ve grown apart. That’s what drove her to this decision more than anything else. This is something she wants to do.’
A representative for Cardi B also informed People that the divorce is, ‘not based on cheating rumors, but rather has been a long time coming.’
