New Couple Stefon Diggs and Pregnant Cardi B Break Social Media Silence To Send Clear Message To Offset And Haters Over Their Romance Relationship
Stefon Diggs, the New England Patriots’ biggest-name free agent signing of the offseason, caused some concern among Patriots fans and observers when he showed up 45 minutes late for joint practice with the Washington Commanders on Wednesday.
With Diggs history of what one writer covering his former team, the Buffalo Bills, called his “enigmatic and seemingly self-absorbed” behavior — as well as the perhaps more important fact that Diggs is still recovering from a torn ACL suffered last October — immediately raised fears that there was something amiss with the 31-year-old, two-time All-Pro wide receiver.
As it turned out, according to NBC Sports Boston Patriots insider Phil Perry, there was nothing to worry about. Diggs had not suffered a flair-up with the knee, nor was he engaged in one of his periodic emotional outbursts.
Practice Absence Pre-Planned, Report Says
“My understanding is that was pre-planned, and they’re trying to limit some reps for a veteran guy,” Perry said on the Patriots Talk Podcast following the practice session. “So, nothing apparently physically going on there.”
Diggs took the field and participated fully in the remainder of the practice, Perry reported. But the Patriots elected to hold Diggs out of the Patriots’ preseason opener against the Washington Commanders on Friday.
Nonetheless, Diggs has continued to draw attention off the field — most recently for his relationship with the 32-year-old rap music superstar Cardi B, whose five Number One Billboard Magazine Hot 100 chart hits are a record for any woman hip-hop recording artist.
Diggs, Cardi B Dating At Least Since May
The pair were first spotted together at a Boston Celtics vs. New York Knicks NBA playoff game in May. And while they never explicitly confirmed that they are in a relationship, they have not denied it either — and that means, inevitably, they have been the subject of seemingly non-stop breakup rumors ever since they initially appeared in public together.
The original rumor that Diggs and Cardi B — whose given name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar — began in October of last year, just two months after the rap star announced that she was fling for divorce from her husband, Kiari Kendrell Cephus, better known to the world as rap star Offset.
At the same time, Cardi B announced that she was pregnant with the couple’s third child, a baby born the following month.
Bizarre Breakup Rumor Shot Down
The latest Diggs-Cardi B breakup rumors surfaced last month, and even as celebrity breakup rumors go, it was a weird one. The claim was that Diggs split with the rap star because he could no longer tolerate the alleged odor emanating from her “BBL,” that is, Brazilian Butt Lift,cosmetic surgery procedure to increase the size of one’s posterior.
Cardi B denied the rumor, but apparently she and Diggs found the claims so amusing that about a week ago, they both had some fun with it on social media.
Diggs Leaves Suggestive Comment on IG
Beneath one of Cardi B’s frequent Instagram posts, Diggs posted a comment that read “*sniffs BBL” followed by an emoji of an extended tongue.
His gal-pal apparently decided to have a sense of humor about the situation, responding to Diggs “comment” with one of her own: “@stefondiggs that’s how I got you stuck,” she wrote, followed by a frowning emoji and three laughing emojis.
As if the currently active status of the relationship needed any further confirmation, Cardi B took to her TikTok account on Tuesday to flaunt gold, diamond encrusted watch that, according to a People Magazine report, retails for $72,806.
Diggs, who she referred to as “my boo boo,” purchased the watch for her, she said in the post.
