JUST IN: Offset Settles $1.5M Tax Debt After Cardi B Refused To Pay It With Leading To Delay of Divorce Between Them

Rapper Offset has paid off a $1.5 million tax debt that Uncle Sam demanded amid his bitter divorce from Cardi B, Us Weekly can exclusively report.

The Internal Revenue Service filed docs on December 26, 2025, releasing a lien accusing the entertainer of owing $1,575,266.73 for the year 2022. The lien was originally filed on April 3, 2024. The bill being paid off brought Offset’s tax debt down substantially.

As Us first reported, Offset was hit with a separate six-figure lien on October 15 by the IRS. The lien claims the musician owes $486,426.35 in taxes for 2023. Offset and Cardi split in 2024.
Another lien that has yet to be released was filed by the Georgia Department of Revenue in March 2025 for an alleged $292,000 owed for 2021.

The Georgia Department of Revenue bill listed the original amount due as $167,916 but the amount swelled with interest ($53,000), penalties ($40,000), collection fees ($33,000), along with other costs. The total of the liens yet to be released comes to $778,426.

Cardi spoke out about her divorce from Offset in September 2025, claiming that taxes were one of the reasons the case was taking a long time. “The only reason why I’m still married is because somebody wants me to pay for their taxes,” she alleged.

“Y’all wanna know the tea? The only way I can get out of my marriage is if I pay for somebody else’s taxes, even though I pay for my own, and give them one of my properties. I’m fighting for that, I’m gonna fight for that. This is not no love s***.”

“I’m not gonna live my life because on a contract I’m practically still married because somebody wanna hold me hostage if I don’t give them millions of dollars to get out of it,” she continued. “So, that’s what I’m going through in life. … Y’all want me to remarry and stuff to have another baby and stuff like that. I’m doing things now that makes me happy. I did it the right way the first time.”

Cardi and Offset were first linked in 2017. They started dating a short time later. The exes share three children: Kulture Kiari Cephus, 7, Wave Set Cephus, 4, and Blossom Belle, 12 months.

On September 17, 2025,, the Bodak Yellow rapper announced she was expecting a fourth child with her boyfriend and NFL star Stefon Diggs.

As Us first reported, Offset is also facing a lawsuit over an alleged assault at a Florida club in 2021. Leamsy Izquierdo and Humberto Crespo sued Offset, claiming he attacked them unprovoked.

The two alleged victims claimed they were struck in the face, body and head. Their lawsuit said they needed medical attention and sustained injuries as a result of Offset’s attack A Miami judge granted Izquierdo and Crespo a default judgment totaling $232,000.

Offset has been attempting to vacate the judgment for months. A hearing has been set for February 2026. where Offset will make his case against the judgment being thrown out.
