JUST IN: Cardi B Drop Major Update Hint On Her Sophomore Album With Beyoncé Breaks Social Media Silence After Win Grammy’s ‘Best Country Album’

Cardi B showed up to this year’s Grammy Awards to deliver the announcement that her upcoming sophomore album is now “wrapped in a bow.”

The album is slated to come out this year, despite having been teased for a 2023 release, and then a 2024 release. However, Cardi B attributed the delay to her desire that “everything just has to be like perfect… because I feel like people are expecting so much.”

However, the internet has been joking about the new update, with some users noting that they are long over it, given how long it has been taking. Check out what this one user said, for example:

While users were visibly disappointed with how long it was taking, scores did express their excitement over the same:

Users were visibly divided over Cardi’s latest announcement.

Cardi B says she’s trying to get everything ready so everyone can enjoy her upcoming album seamlessly

Cardi B spoke to Billboard on the red carpet to reveal that “it’s coming,” and it’s going to be “amazing.”

“It’s coming, I’m just waiting on everything to be ready, so when it’s time to order, everyone can have everything on deck for the pre-order, all the bells and whistles,” she told Billboard.

The 32-year-old mom of three was nominated for best rap performance at this year’s Grammy Awards for her single Enough (Miami), which comes from her forthcoming sophomore album.

The last time she won, and took home the award, was back in 2019. At the time, she won Best Rap Album for her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, becoming the first female artist to ever do so.

During the ceremony, she also served as one of the presenters, alongside other artists like SZA, Queen Latifah, Olivia Rodrigo, and Taylor Swift.

As for Cardi’s sophomore album, it remains to be seen exactly when it will come out.

Beyoncé breaks records as first black woman to win Grammy’s ‘Best Country Album’

Award-winning artist Beyoncé has made history at the 2025 Grammy Awards, becoming the first Black woman to win the Best Country Album award for her groundbreaking project, “Cowboy Carter.” 

This huge achievement marks a significant moment for Beyoncé and the country music genre.

With her win, Beyoncé extends her record as the most-awarded Grammy artist of all time, with a total of 34 Grammys. 

She previously held the title, which she earned in 2023 with her album “Renaissance.”

Beyoncé was visibly emotional as she accepted the award, expressing her gratitude and shock. 

She thanked God for allowing her to continue doing what she loves after so many years.

Beyoncé also used her acceptance speech to encourage artists to push boundaries and defy genre expectations. 

She emphasised the importance of persistence and passion in overcoming obstacles.

She said: “Wow, I really was not expecting this. Wow, I wanna thank God — Oh my God! — that I’m able to still do what I love after so many years Oh my God!”

She added, “I’d like to thank all of the incredible country artists that accepted this album. We worked so hard on it. I think sometimes genre is a code word to keep us in our place as artists, and I just want to encourage people to do what they’re passionate about, and to stay persistent.

“Wow, I’d like to thank my beautiful family, all of the artists that were collaborators… thank you! This wouldn’t have been this album without you. I’d like to thank God again and my fans, and I still am in shock. So thank you so much for this honour.”

The award was presented by Taylor Swift.

“Cowboy Carter” was a landmark project that spotlighted Black artists in country music, an area where Beyoncé had previously felt unwelcome.

Beyoncé’s historic win was one of several nominations she received at the 2025 Grammys. 

She was also nominated for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Country Song, among others.
